Homeschool conventions are a lot of fun, but how many workshops can you realistically squeeze into the weekend? Inevitably, at least one of the speakers that I want to hear is scheduled to talk at the same time as another workshop that I want to attend. I have purchased the CDs of speakers that I missed, but my state charges $ 7 per CD (on top of the $50 convention admission fee) which can really add up if you want to order several sessions. Not only that, but if you live out of town, you have to pay for lodging, food, and childcare (or pay to put the kids into the kids’ program).
Plus by the end of the weekend, your poor feet are tired, and you are physically and mentally exhausted!
